Silk, brows &
Rock’n’Roll textile colour.
Although I did and discovered quite a lot this summer, it was pure balm. Staying at home or spontaneously going out whenever I want, meeting people I like to meet, exploring New York – got that “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”-themed hat? -, attending a workshop at a Fashion School and sewing all by myself are just a few of this summer’s aspects I miss. Covering the “sewing”-part this week, you are going to be told about NYC and the workshop in the following weeks.
The idea for this top popped up in my head on the second day of summer holiday, when a friend and me were strolling through the city and two weeks later I decided to realize it. Red silk, which found it’s way from a fabric store in India to one of the bursting boxes in my closet; flesh-coloured rib knit and eyebrow-shaped buttons I bought in a small shop stuffed with sparkling jewelry and loads of buttons, some textile colour et voilà: an expression of the fascination I feel towards Japan and Far Eastern fashion – or maybe just the faces I always draw… – was committed to fabric.
