Hereby I’m introducing a new category: Behind the scenes. I don’t know about you, but I love watching BTS videos of almost every kind, ranging from music video sets to fashion shoots. Probably because I enjoy looking at photography equipment and hordes of tripods, light stands and people working together on a project creating the busy atmosphere I feel so well in. Workaholic? Me? Nah. ;)
So with this first Behind the Scenes-post I decided to take you a little closer to getting to know the making of the Liberty London inspired Makeup editorial. Last week I talked about what the makeup look is referring to, now I would like to give you insight into how and where it was created…
#NextChapter and what’s to see behind the scenes
As you might have noticed if you’re keeping up with my social media channels, I’ve already shared this video series on Instagram at the beginning of January. In a three-days-in-a-row-upload-mania labeled with the cryptic, self-explanatory hashtag #NextChapter I not only low-key announced my comeback but also separated my former works from what’s to come. What’s to come are higher quality and stronger visuals. But I guess my comeback post “BACK with a BANG!” explains that far better.
Besides the final realisation of an idea that had stuck with me for more than a month, this day before Christmas also bestowed me with the pleasure of spending several hours with my best friends working on something I love. While I painted Celine’s face (seriously, I used a real paint brush), Lennart made sure to shoot enough film material, later ending up in these epically edited trailers. Since the whole shoot was set up in my room, also known as a makeshift photography (and now even videography) studio, there wasn’t much space. The desk turned into a vanity, the sofa accommodated some dresses and if you pay enough attention, you can see my bed transformed into a computer freak’s dream in the background. Consider this the roomtour you’ll never get. In fact, it’s a pretty private peek as this is the place where most of the shoots I produce(d) take and have taken place, where I improved. Reduced to the very beginning it’s where I began this journey.
Talking of dresses. Plural. We shot another editorial that day, which you might have peeked at in the third trailer, the most dramatic one of the trio. I don’t want to reveal too much yet, so stay tuned for those pics!
Bringing this short trip behind the curtain to it’s end, even though there’s not that much curtain to lift, I want to thank Lennart and Celine for sacrificing their time in order to make one of those figments of mine come to life!
