Princess for a Day
December 24/2016 – Editorial, Photography
Just quickly stopping by to wish everyone a merry Christmas, share some recent, slightly Christmassy photo work with you and avail myself of my new-found “back to the roots”-spirit!
I took these pictures of my friend Michelle as part of her Birthday present: a baroque photo shoot. Quite some time ago, she told me that she’d once like to wear one of those 17th/18th century dresses, with hoop skirts and all the frills, so I felt called to make that wish come true. Fortunately, my godmother started working at the Theatre Constance this year and was able to borrow a couple of costumes (pointer: this is not the only outfit we shot that day) from their costume stock for us. Although we didn’t get to photograph this green velvet mass outside, since it was too heavy for Michelle to stand up wearing it, we managed to put an artsy touch on it by deconstructing the traditional dress code towards the end of the shoot. Thanks for a – I’d say well-spent – Sunday filled with laughter and hoop skirt tugging, Michelle!
