Unconventionally

Ladies and gentlemen: The result of me running on too little sleep, too much Matcha tea and not having an obi. Unconventionally. That’s the first term that came to my mind, when thinking of how to describe these pictures. Not only because of the rather unconventional belt, but also because this is the first article not featuring at least a single piece of clothing, which has been designed, sewn, drawn or whatsoever, by me. Remember the purpose of this strange portfolio/blog-mix you’re probably spending your precious time in exactly this moment on? Right. Showcasing design-related things. First I was wary about putting the photos up here; after all I would presumably end up losing interest in creating content, like I did once due to the fact that my content had become pointless. I felt like there was an imaginary barrier preventing me from uploading whatever the hell I want. And then I realized how much I like photography and how it has become a part of me. And that unconventional used shoes can be seen as an expression of creativity as well. Somehow. So here’s a wannabe-obi made of wannabe-ballet shoes. If I had to name this shoot, I’d call it »Jamie Bond meets Japanese ballerina«, for obvious reasons. Speaking of ballet, am I right in assuming you’ve noticed the background music by now? That’s »Dakini: Movement IV«, composed by Adam Crystal and soundtrack to one of my favorite TV shows: Flesh and Bone. In case you haven’t watched it yet, I highly recommend doing so. You won’t regret it! Part of me is telling you this, because I want you to watch it and drown in its drama. The other half just wants to brag about being lucky to have gotten hold on tickets for Semperoper ballet in Dresden on June 17th, starring Sarah Hay, the heroine of Flesh and Bone. I’m off, jumping for joy.
